Baptism is a special and holy occasion when a person is welcomed into the family of God. It is an occasion of great seriousness and of great joy. For a child family and friends make promises to bring the child up in the Christian faith. Later in life as the child mature in their walk with Jesus they can then choose to be confirmed in the faith; taking on the promises made by their family, for themselves. Baptisms or Christenings as they are sometimes called, are the beginning of an amazing journey both for the child and for the family who make the promises.

We currently offer Baptisms at 1pm on the first and third Sundays of the month, except at very busy times like Easter, Christmas and summer holidays.
Baptism services are at St Michael’s on first Sundays and at St Paul’s on third Sundays.
Due to the level of demand, we’re sorry but we can’t guarantee an exclusive service for you. We can accommodate up to three families at each service.
To make sure everyone has a seat, we have to limit numbers to 50 per family at St Paul’s and 60 per family at St Michael’s (including children).
Much the best way to start planning your baptism is to come along to any of our services and have a chat with one of the church leaders afterwards.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Adults can be baptised too!
If you were not baptised as a child and have come to faith later in life we would love to help you mark the occasion with adult baptism; a welcome into the family of God through the Holy Spirit.
You’re never too old!
